Beltaine Firewalk

Monday, April 21st, 2003

I am pleased to announce that I will be hosting the first annual Phoenix Roost Firewalk during the Phoenix Roost Tavern’s Beltaine Feast, to be held on May 3rd on Crawford Farm in Belmont, NH.
After developing and testing the site this past weekend, we are pleased to report that it is an ideal location and of perfect construction. The Phoenix Roost’s first firewalkers, under the guidance and tutelage of myself, included Glenn Crawford, Aaron Clifford and Chris “Spigga” Beauregard.

We welcome all those attending the Beltaine feast to join us in the firewalk. This represents an opportunity to face some of your deepest fears and overcome obstacles you thought impossible. This is a group activity and everyone is present to support one another. We aim to create a welcoming and supportive environment to enable each and every one of you to succeed in your firewalking experience, and further, to take the lessons learned away with you into your daily lives. Once you walk on fire, you will feel empowered to make all the positive changes in your life that you’ve merely been thinking about. Come, join us in the firewalk.

A Note of Thanks

Saturday, April 12th, 2003

I would like to take a moment to extend my deepest thanks to all those who attended the Fease Research Labs event on April the 10th. I played a comparatively small part in the evenings entertainment, doing a small sword swallowing routine (repeated by request at the end of the evening) and some roving psychological magic, but the environment highly promoted a genuine interaction with those in attendance. And genuine interaction is certainly what I found!

Never before have I had such a wonderfully curious audience asking such well thought out questions. Through my interactions with the many wonderful people that I met, I was encouraged to dig deep into my own reasons for performing the acts that I do, and was forced to face the many difficult questions, and further, to provide answers to those same questions, that my routines and style raise in an audience. These thoughts are constantly on my mind, but it is not often that I am called to task on them.

Website Server Change!

Sunday, April 6th, 2003

The roderickrussell.com and .net domains, as well as my personal carder-russell.net and .com sites, were all down for a period of a few hours yesterday evening while I was transitioning to a new server.

I am pleased to announce that I now have a webspace with more flexibility and overall capability which will allow me to deliver more effective content to all you eager readers.

If you have any comments, please send them my way, either by leaving them here by clicking on the comments link, or by direct email at roderick@swordswallow.org.
