Relocation

Monday, May 12th, 2003

That’s correct, after over a year of debate and preparation, I am finally taking the plunge and turning my world upside down by moving to Burlington, Vermont. Why Burlington you ask? First and foremost, my performance partner Steve Taubman is located there, and we’ve been having difficulty working together as closely as we would like due to our distance. This move is chiefly to facilitate our new show.
The show is not, however, the only reason for the move. Whereas I love my dear New Hampshire, and especially the community of Plymouth in which I reside, my career does demand more resources than rural New Hampshire can provide. As I cherish my solitude, Burlington Vermont represents the perfect mix of city and country that I seek. The remoteness is not an issue, for regardless of my location, I am required to travel extensively. Be it Burlington or be it Manhattan, I am on the road a lot.

Short Report on the Firewalk

Saturday, May 10th, 2003

The May 3rd Phoenix Roost Tavern Beltaine Feast and Firewalk was an absolute success! Accompanied by the masterful music of Silent Lion and the gourmet food that the Phoenix Roost is known for, we burned wood all day in our firewalking pit in preparation for the evenings event.

As darkness fell, over thirty guests, including eleven firewalk participants, made their way through the torchlit wilderness to our specially prepared firewalking bed. The guests sat to the left as those who would be walking sat to the right. We raked out the massive bed of coals that had been burning all day into a long, rather intimidating bed of red hot coals and spontaneous fire.

After some brief words and a moment of silence for reflection, I led the way across the coals and back, followed by four other veteran participants.
