Westbury HS - Empowering the Mind

Thursday, April 22nd, 2004

1100 excited, highly interactive and entirely uninhibited students all gathered together in one small theatre makes for a very intense performing environment. The students at Westbury High School are hands-down the most vocal students I’ve worked with in a while! It was fantastic!

I’d like to send a big thank you to Nilda and Michael from the Gear Up program, two incredibly wonderful people, who made today’s program entitled “Empowering the Mind” possible. And my thanks go out also to the staff and faculty at Westbury for opening up their theatre and inviting the students to take part.

Let’s hope that the Gear Up program keeps up the good work (as I know they will) and that Westbury can be treated to many more great shows!

Manchester Memorial - 1500 Strong!

Wednesday, April 21st, 2004

A bit earlier in the day than I’m used to, but the show today at Manchester Memorial High School was fantastic! We had a huge crowd of 1500 people completely filling the auditorium and an enormously high energy level! I’ve never heard such a buzz from a crowd!

Despite some microphone issues due to an unshielded video camera cable, the show was an enormous success, and my thanks go out to all those that made it possible; Brent, Jim, Judy and everyone that helped to setup the show and run all the technical aspects.

I gambled the usual $100 at the beginning of the show, and even put my fee on the line at the end of the show. Thankfully I was able to walk away with both in hand, but not without some nervous sweating on my part. Brent especially made me work for my money, trying to send me psychological curve balls.

Woodsville High Goes Wild!

I’ve never encounter a group of students who kept me on my toes as much as you guys! You shattered every psychological stereotype and forced me to improvise in new and exciting ways. I know for a fact that some of you had some pretty remarkable experiences and saw some things that simply defied logic, and I thank you for making it possible!

I loved working with you guys, and appreciated the high energy! Keep up the good work!

Until next time…
