Public Show Announced: Waterville Opera House

Tuesday, March 14th, 2006

I’m constantly getting requests from people looking to attend shows. Unfortunately, many of my shows both large and small are private - shows in university theaters, corporate work and art galleries.

In April however, I will be performing a public show at the Waterville Opera House in Waterville, Maine. If you are even remotely nearby I hereby extend a personal invitation to the event. It’s rare, inexpensive and is in a beautiful historic opera house that seats just about 1,000. I’ll be performing Dangerous Games, the same show that I tour on the college circuit.

Those who are also interested in my theater show - Private Thoughts and Other Lies - should keep their ears open for the announcement of a fall/winter ‘06 tour.

Roderick Russell Sighting on Discovery Channel

Monday, March 13th, 2006

I’ve done work with a number of film crews from networks such as the Discovery Channel, and though I can tell you precisely the documentaries and shows that I’ve taken part in, it’s often the case that footage of me that never made it to air the first time becomes part of other specials and documentaries, many of which I do not know about until someone contacts me to tell me that they spotted me on television.

The latest is the Discovery Channel network’s show Medical Incredibles. Thanks go to Jason Tisi for contacting me to let me know of this latest sighting.

Apparently as Jason was flipping through the channels he first spotted my chin and black tshirt as I swallowed a sword. He stopped flipping and confirmed it was me as the segment continued and segued into more one-on-one interview with me - as well as addition footage of me performing. The question that I have is this: how in the world did he recognize my chin? ;-)
