Leave Your Leg at the Door
Prosthetic Limbs and Roller Coasters
November 9th, 2007 by Roderick Russell
This photo was recently taken at Universal Studios’ Islands of Adventure theme park. This particular one was outside of the Dueling Dragons roller coaster, but they can be seen all over the park, sometimes in variation.
The Walt Disney World theme parks have similar signs but I didn’t manage to snap photos of them.

Well, I wouldn’t want a prosthetic leg coming off during an inverted coaster ride! Shoes are dangerous enough!

True enough! You have to admit though, it’s a funny sign. ;) Another favorite found on many rides is what we affectionately refer to as the “no disco” sign. ;)
As it turns out, a guy *did* actually lose a prosthetic leg back on 2003 on the very ride at which I took the photo! There are articles about it everywhere, but I particularly liked this one from the St. Petersburg Time.
My favorite quote?
“It was a good leg, the best I ever had,” said Webb, 34, of New Port Richey
